Learn about Drought School
Drought School is the only school in the Norway J7 School District (not a part of the Racine Unified School District). The district is 9 square miles wide, and Drought School is located on the corners of Highway 45 and 7 Mile Road in Franksville, Wisconsin.
Drought School instructs Kindergarten through 8th grade and offers a 4-Year-Old Kindergarten program all day Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
School hours are 7:30 A.M. - 2:30 P.M. Lunch is served at 10:45 a.m. for the lower-grade students (K-4th) and again at 11:30 a.m. for the upper-grade students (5th-8th). Hot lunch is offered daily by Taher, Inc.
Drought School offers extra-curricular activities for the 5th - 8th grades such as softball, volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, and track & field.
Drought School's Mission
To develop responsible students who demonstrate positive self esteem, respect for all people, accountability for their actions and choices, and a commitment for life-long learning. The caring, sensitive and dedicated staff, and an innovative curriculum, will give all students opportunity to attain skills and knowledge necessary to sustain a successful and productive life.
Wisconsin Academic Standards
The Norway J7 School District academic standards for the subject areas required in Wisconsin have been developed and modified over the years through a blending of the Wisconsin Model Academic Standards locally developed standards, and academic standards recommended by reputable national organizations in the identified curricular areas. These standards shall be referenced and used as instructional guidance to be in effect during the 2024-2025 school year.
